The Texas Hill Country is a region of Central Texas, USA, that features rolling, somewhat rugged, hills that consist primarily of limestone but includes the Llano Uplift and the second largest granite outcropping in the United States, Enchanted Rock, which is located 18 miles north of Fredericksburg. The Hill Country also reaches into portions of the two major metropolitan areas of Central Texas, especially in San Antonio's northern suburbs and the western half of Travis County, ending just west of downtown Austin. The region is the eastern portion of the Edwards Plateau bounded by the Balcones Fault on the east and the Llano Uplift to the west and north. The terrain is punctuated by a large number of limestone rocks and boulders and a thin layer of topsoil which makes the region prone to flash flooding. Several cities were settled at the base of the Balcones Escarpment, including Austin, San Marcos, and New Braunfels, as a result of springs discharging water stored in the Edwards Aquifer. A haunted ranch house was featured on "Unsolved Mysteries" and it didn't give a location, it only said it was located in Texas Hill Country. The segment was about three cowboys who was using the house for a hunting lodge of some sort. Any ideas? I wanted to know where it was at; if anyone in that area had heard of it or seen it in the paper or something. I figured w/ it being on a national television show, it would be known. Let me clarify this; I know where the Texas Hill Country is, but I'm looking for the town that the house is located in and the possible address! Q. I spotted this bird in early June, 2008, at Inks Lake, which is in the Texas Hill Country, near Marble Falls (central Texas). It was about the size of a cardinal.
